Cupid and Psyche

 Happy Valentine Week:heart:

Why are all my Holiday submissions late??^^; oh Well. I wanted to do something with Greek Mythology(which I love).

To celebrate Valentine's Day here is Cupid and Psyche. They have an interesting story behind them, that actually does not end in tragedy, which quite a few do:

The Goddess Aphrodite becomes so jealous of a beautiful young woman, Psyche that she orders her son Cupid, or Eros, to shoot her arrows and have her fall in love with the ugliest man! But Cupid accidentally falls in love with her to Aphrodite's displeasure. In short, Cupid asks Zeus to feed Psyche ambrosia ( the food of the gods) so that she may become immortal and join him in Olympus. Zeus, touched by their love, allows it and Psyche joins Cupid in Olympus.

Please excuse the rushed-ness!^^; I wanted to include Cupid's arrows, but they would have been distracting next to his wings! Psyche has a butterfly in her hair, she is often depicted with Butterfly wings.Psyche is Greek for 'butterfly'. Which is something new I learned.:D I also hope to do more Greek Mythological characters...

 YAY Romantic art!!!!!!!!!!

Ten minutes ago, I saw you
I looked up when you came through the door
My head started reeling
You gave me the feeling
The room had no ceiling or floor

Ten minutes ago, I met you
And we murmured our "How do you do's?"
I wanted to ring out the bells
And fling out my arms
And to sing out the news
"I have found her, she's an angel
With the dust of the stars in her eyes
We are dancing, we are flying
And she's taking me back to the skies"

In the arms of my love, I'm flying
Over mountain and meadow and glen
And I like it so well
That for all I can tell
I may never come down again
I may never come down to earth again
